About the resin

Benzoin comes from the Styrax benzoin tree, native to Southeast Asia where it has been tapped and traded for over a thousand years. The resin is harvested by scoring the bark and letting the sap weep and harden. Pure, unprocessed, no perfume oils, no pigment.

Benzoin is the resin practitioners reach for when they want to round out a blend. It acts as a fixative, deepening frankincense and balancing the bitterness of myrrh which is why it's the third resin in most classical tri blends including Romulus.
