How to use white sage

To use white sage as efficient as possible, you generally light it in a small bowl – ideally an Abalone shell. This symbolizes all four elements: de shell stands for water, the sage for earth, the ash for fire and the smoke for air.  The sage is supposed to smolder in its shell or bowl whilst you carry it through your home, turning it into something which resembles white sage incense.
